Best Twitter Software for Windows

Twitter, the media darling it is today, is clearing a bit of bad press for having stolen company documents.

The short version is that a hacker got into an employee's email account, and from there was able to access information stored in the Google Apps Twitter account.

Depending on where you read the story, the twist is:

Twitter has serious security problems (partially true)

Cloud computing not sure (mostly false)

Someone needs a better password (totally true)

The real lesson be learned here is be very careful with your email. Think about it. Almost everything online is associated your email account.

Are you just as vulnerable?

All of us, both personally and maintain online information of the company, ranging from the mundane Facebook ads critical financial access, as the bank or Paypal logins. Many of these sites are very secure in themselves, but access to an email account can bring all the dominoes falling down.

It is information access to other sites sit in an email sent or received? Passwords are the most secure sites the same as your email account? Could a hacker to reset passwords to others sites with access to your email?

An email account at risk can be the back door to information that a hacker could not obtain otherwise.

How not to fall into the trap Twitter (or is that twap?)

  1. Put a strong password in your email and webmail accounts.
  2. Be cautious when it binds to an email account web with a major provider (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.). These are not inherently dangerous, but they are big goals.
  3. Never credentials e-mail access to your co-workers or vendors. I do not want to live in your information (or account) e-mail.
  4. Have unique passwords for secure sites. Never reuse your email password.
  5. Change your passwords regularly. I know remembering them all is a big headache, but strong passwords written on a piece of paper in a locked desk drawer are more sure that the same password at each site.
